Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we headed to Apple Valley to be with the Antons. Had a wonderful prime rib dinner, followed by a ton of presents (most for the kiddos of course). We spent the night and Santa just happened to find where we were!

And just before we left to head to Big Lake on Christmas, Olivia fell asleep while cuddling with Great Grandma. So precious!

Christmas!

This was our 2nd Christmas celebration, our 1st was Christmas Eve with the Antons (Pictures to come when I get some, since I didn't take any with my camera). We headed to the Wellers on Saturday, Christmas day.

Someone was a bit tuckered out at the end of the day, fell right asleep with her favorite person...daddy.

Just a lazy weekend

We had a fairly lazy weekend, which was nice. Had our niece's 1st birthday party on Saturday, then stayed in all day Sunday.

This is the end of our weekend....Olivia decided she didn't want to go to bed, so 1-1/2 hours after bedtime, we brought her back down to play until she got tired. At 9:30pm, she started rubbing her eyes and laying her head on the floor....so back to bed she went, and she was out like a light.

Blake eating a snack....and our little chowhound watching every move. Olivia is almost fully on table foods now, she loves fruits and veggies, bread and meat. Even had her 1st taste of cheeseless pizza, mac n cheese and swedish meatballs.

Bath time, Craft time

Tonight I let the kids play in the tub together. Blake was really excited, since this was only their 2nd bath like this. It's just easier to bathe them seperately, but what the hay....they like splashing with each other. It was short lived though....Olivia decided to go snorkeling and Blake kept squirting her in the face with bath toys.



After Olivia went to bed, Blake and I made a "project". Cute little snowman. He loves using my special scissors. He told me at bedtime that he wants to make a penguin and a dolphin tomorrow...so we'll see how that goes!

Play Time

Peek a Boo! I took the Laugh & Learn house out to see if Olivia would play with it...and she loves it. Something new and big to play with. She bops to the music and loves playing with all the toys that go with it.

Birds Nest

Blake wanted to sit on his bean bag last night...so he pulled it out, and set it right on top of daddy. Hahaha. Snuggled right in though...

Wrapping Paper or Gift Bags? 99% of the time I wrap things....just some last minute items get tossed into bags. I love wrapping!!!

Real or Artificial Tree? Right now...fake! I have no time to remember to water a tree, although they are so pretty....fake is easy, and costs less in the long run!

When do you put up the tree? Usually Thanksgiving weekend.

Do you like eggnog? Love it....real (with booze) and out of the carton.

Fav. gift recieved as a child? That would have to be my baby buggy, or my barbie that I got when we went to Riverside,CA for Christmas.

Hardest person to buy for? Either parents, or my husband.

Easiest person to buy for? The kids...the list can be endless

Do you have a Nativity scene? No, but I really really want the Willow Tree set. I have 3 other figurines and love those!

Mail or E-mail cards? Snail mail...all the way.

Fav. Christmas movie? Elf (for a newer movie) or both Grinches

When do you start shopping? Usually as early as possible.....this year not so much. I'm way way behind.

Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Probably....once or twice.

Fav. thing to eat at Christmas? Pecan Tassies

Lights on the tree? Yes....the giant multi colored lights. I always wanted those kind growing up, but my parents always did little white lights. I have to do something fun with the kids.

Fav.Christmas songs? Silent Night (sang at church by candle-light), O Holy Night, Jingle Bells....oh heck, I love them all. Eric can tell you I listen to them as soon as they have them on the radio. I don't care if it's October....if I hear Christmas music I'm happy!

Travel or stay home? Well since we have 3 families to have Christmas with....we travel. It's fun....we're used to it. Some day we'll have our own little Christmas, but for now we enjoy what we do....it's not the holidays without being with family.

Angel or Star at the top of the tree? Angel now....she has a mighty bazooka cannon bubble light. It's awesome. I really want a pretty star, but until I find what I love....she's staying on top of the tree!

When to open presents? We open them at night (wherever we are)....then Santa comes in the morning. Then we go to another parents house and open more gifts.

Fav. Ornament theme/color? Right now anything unbreakable! Once the kids are older....we'll put all our personal ornaments back on the tree. I like the reds and greens the best, with white...not a fan of blue themed items.

What do I want for Christmas this year? lots of things....but mostly love, health, happiness, patience and good weather for safe travels!!

Night-time snow shoveling

It started snowing today....we've had snow already, but not much. After dinner, Eric and Blake got bundled up and went out to shovel. Blake has his own snow shovel and loves helping daddy. Afterwards, Eric pulled him around the block a couple times on his sled, then they came in for some homemade hot chocolate!

Finger foods!

Life is getting a bit more messy....but she really enjoys some of the new finger foods she's getting to eat. She's been loving puffs, and kix....now she's eating cooked potatoes, carrots and peas! She's had bits of bread here and there, so we may try pancakes for breakfast this weekend.

Our little cutie pie has decided to start standing...pulling herself up on toys and whatnot. She's pretty darn proud of herself too!
