Garden

We have a local garden here, nothing compared to Munsinger back in MN, but it's still very pretty.  The kids and I went out to check out the flowers and take a little hike yesterday.

My baby....starting Kindergarten soon!!

South Unit- TR National

This was our 3rd trip to the South Unit since we've moved here...and we came across an entire herd of Buffalo!  Was the coolest thing to see....I think we sat and watched them for a good 1/2 Hour.  A few of them came about 15 feet from the car, which scared the kids a little bit....but you just don't see that many like that.  We've seen 1-3 Buffalo the other times we've been out.  The Males sounded like they were making mating calls (which sounded/looked like they were wheezing).

We did a little 1mile hike

Near the end of the South Loop there's another trail you can take way out to a point....one of the prettiest views of the park.  In the next picture you can see a tiny trail that leads out to that point.  A storm was starting to roll in, so it was a tad windy but worth the hike!

Many wild horses were out that day as well

North Unit-TR National Park

We had no plans this weekend, so we took off Saturday and headed up to Killdear, then over to Watford City and back down.  We stopped through the North Unit of the park since we hadn't gone there yet.  It was similar in many ways to the South Unit, but so very pretty on it's own.

The Buffalo was the welcoming committee, just hanging out by the front entrance.

Just some really gorgeous views, who said ND is flat??

At the end of the loop, there was a sign saying to watch out for an aggressive Male Buffalo, well I think we found him.  Hanging out by a herd of cattle, we saw this before the sign...then saw him walking down the road on our way back.

There are some Bighorn Sheep in this picture, my lens doesn't have the best zoom...but they are there

These are Cannonball Concretions.
