Stop and Smell the Roses...and Peonies

Next Stop...Munsinger (again...haha). Tonight's walk included several blooming roses and Peonies, along with some Iris's and other varieties of flowers.  I'm not usually a rose fan, but they were pretty tonight.  The Peonies were pretty awesome too, and I think I caught a couple poppies!

OK so the bleeding hearts just might be nudging Tulips out of the running for my favorite flower.  I've never really paid much attention to them before, but I am seeing them all over this year.  They are just so delicate and cute!

 

The Geese and ducks were fun to watch tonight.  The Mississppi is really high right now from all the rain we had last week & weekend.  The birds would float down, then paddle back.

Pretty Cabin things

This weekend I took some pictures of all the flowers Denise has nutured at the cabin, as well as some other interesting/pretty things. I still think the wood pile is my favorite!

Memorial Day weekend 2012

We spent our Memorial Weekend at the lake (and a Wedding and 85th Bday party).  It wasn't the best weekend weather-wise, but we were able to get some sun and take a pontoon ride on Sunday.

"Wook Mom....wook!  Dragonfly!!" Olivia loved all the dragonflies that were at the lake, and carried this one around for a while on Sunday. Blake tossed it out into the garden when were leaving and boy was she mad about that!

Cabin...and new Camera pictures!

Last weekend the kids and I headed up North with my good friend Zibby for my birthday weekend celebration.  We were joined by Erin and Annie later Saturday and had some adventures on Saturday afternoon.  We were on our way into Brainerd when a rock flew at my van and shattered the sliding door glass where Blake was sitting.  Super scary!  Thankfully my grandma was home, so we slowly made our way to her house and took care of the mess. **I got new glass yesterday, so good as new!** I was able to snap a few shots of the kids with my new camera (Red Nikon D3100) once the battery was fully charged.  I am loving it! I still have to finish reading the manual and what came on a disc, and possibly get in for a DSLR class so I can fully use my camera.

Munsinger...through the years

A friend of mine requested some Munsinger pics from when the kids 1st started going together.  Summer of 2010 we went several times, and have been hooked ever since.  The 1st year I didn't get too many pictures. Such a beautiful back drop!

I can't wait to head to the gardens again with my new camera and snap some more pictures!

Happy Mothers Day 2012!!

Sunday was Mothers day, my mom and Grandma came to watch the kids while we went to the Twins game, so we had our own brunch with Homemade cinnamon rolls, eggs and fruit.  Was a great way to celebrate us Moms! We did quite a bit of shopping this weekend as well, my parents are remodeling both bathrooms at their house, so we had to get some towels and decor.

Munsinger Gardens...again!

What another gorgeous night to go outside and play....or in our case, walk around the Gardens again.  I can't seem to get enough of this place, and a bonus is that the tulips are still in bloom!  4 Weeks of my favorite flower....I guess I might not need to go to the Tulip festival in Iowa after seeing so many this spring.  It looks like there will be some Iris's and Peonies blooming in the next couple weeks...they still have other flowers to plant as well.
