1st Trip to Munsinger Gardens 2011

Tonight after dinner, the kids and I made our 1st trip to Munsinger Gardens. It was covered in Tulips....just gorgeous!! We will be going back every couple weeks to see what else is blooming!

I tried to get a picture of both kids....but Olivia kept moving around and Blake was not in the mood to be taking pictures.

San Diego

For my 30th Birthday, Eric took me on a trip of my choice. We took a long weekend and went to San Diego, CA. What a blast! The weather was good (not as warm as I thought, but still warm). We stayed at the Kona Kai on Shelter Island. Great location, nice hotel....was fun to watch all the ships and Navy planes. Saw some fighter jets taking off...they sure are loud!

We got in to San Diego about 8pm....got to our hotel close to 9pm after getting our sweet rental car. We had reserved a "Dodge Charger...or similar"....well wouldn't you know they were all out of those when we showed up, so we go "upgraded" to a brand new Ford Crown Victoria. We grabbed some dinner at Jack-in-the-Box and went to bed. Thursday we woke up and weren't sure what to do....so grabbed some breakfast and ended up driving up the coast to Oceanside. After that we headed back to the hotel....walked 1.5miles down the island to grab lunch, then back. I forgot to put on sunscreen and got a lovely little burn. Friday we headed out to Cabrillo Monument and the Lighthouse.....went and checked out the Tide Pools, then headed up to La Jolla to Black's Beach. What a hike....about 400-500 feet down and back up. Beautiful beach though. Saturday morning we had massages, then went back to La Jolla to go Paragliding....AMAZING!!! Saturday night we had dinner with Eric's cousin at Morton's Steakhouse....super yummy....and best Martini's ever! Sunday....we had to leave and come back to MN.

The Cabrillo Monument.

If you are looking for a great place to go for a long weekend or week....we definetely reccomend going to San Diego. There are still things we didn't end up doing....and much more I didn't even post about. We will be back!

Spring has Sprung!

Warmer weather has finally arrived. It took a while, but yesterday and today the temps were almost to 80. Really warm.....and I'm not complaining! Tonight we had an early dinner, then the kids and I took off on a bike ride....what a beautiful night!

Olivia's 1st Shorts (well other than a couple itty bitty baby ones she wore last year). Chubby little legs in shorts...so cute!

Blake and his Dandilions....you would swear there was gold and diamonds laying all over the yard the way he gets when he sees them. If anyone needs weeding in their yard, just let me know!

Ending the night with some chair leg-lifts

Oh Boy!

Yup....she can climb. She actually pushed the chair over to the couch...

Climbed up onto the couch after climbing onto the chair....

And of course was Super Excited of what she just did. I'm In Trouble!

Happy Mothers Day!!

Happy Mothers day.....to me, my mom, my mother in laws, my grandma, my grandmother in laws, friends and extended family. Being a mom is the most wonderful thing I've done....can be complicated and frustrating, but when you look at your children you know it's all worth it. Kisses, hugs, smiles and laughter are some of life's greatest gifts!

My mom, my Grandma, myself and Olivia....1 year ago on Mothers day, at Olivia's baptism. What a wonderful day to bless a child!

Piggies & Paws

One of my friends hosted a "mommy party" called Piggies and Paws. The party is where you get a hand or foot print of your child, and the artists from that Company makes it into art. I had one done for Blake 2 years ago, and wanted one for Olivia as well. It came yesterday, and here it is! I had to change out the back paper because it came with polka-dots but they were a bit too primary-colored for my taste. The Floral definetely makes it more girly.

Circus Monkey!

Hey Mom!!! Look what I can do!

Yup....that's right. Olivia has mastered climbing on the chair and standing up. I watched her as she was trying to do it sneakily....and she thought it was just funny. She kept going up and down., laughing all the way. Getting confident with all this new walking and standing up on her own!
